Alright, just bear with me here, it's kinda a long story, LOL!!!
So I recently bought a Bogner Alchemist but about three days in the thing started giving me trouble & misbehaving so I sent it back. After getting my refund I started looking for something else to replace it. I know it's nothing special but I got a crazy good deal on a brand new Ibanez Iron Label 15 with a full factory warrantee!!!
Now it isn't the best amp in the world but I love the heck out of my TSA-15! It literally gets more play time than the rest of my amps, some of them extremely expensive and highly coveted, combined!!! I figured if it functions as well as the TSA it would be well worth the price & it sounds pretty good to boot!!!
So I buy this amp but because it was so much cheaper than the Bogner I've got all this P.P. money left over & just burning a whole in my virtual pocket? Then I thought to myself shoot, might as well look around for a Semi-Hollow since I've wanted to add one to my collection for quite some time now?
I looked around and ended up picking up one of the new Gretsch Stremliner V Tails in Cherry for around $450. I've played a few of them & they are fun guitars that play well & they've got a very unique but useful sound. Once again for the price I could mod the hell out of it and not worry about resale value or anything like that too much so I grabbed it. Awesome right????
Here's the thing...
About 2-3 months ago I posted a few guitars on Reverb to free up space & make some cash. One of those guitars was my 02 L.P. Special. Some of you may recall the L.P. in question, I bought it through the Trading Post. Now because I always get crazy lowball offers through the Verb & because I really liked the guitar & wasn't in any hurry to be rid of it, I ended up posting it for about $200 more than it was worth, & almost $300 more than I paid for it!!! Then I completely forgot to take it down when I sold off several other guitars!
So I wake up yesterday morning and someone bought the thing for my full asking price, I'm still not really sure why??? It was a beautiful L.P. special with a SH-14 bridge and P.G.N. neck but nothing too fantastic & there was another one just like it but all original for $200 less literally right next to it? Whatever his reason I couldn't turn down a $850 offer for a guitar I originally spent $480 on!!! I mean Jezz, I could have bought the stock one & just made a couple hundred bucks offthe top???
Another reason that I'd posted it for the price that I did was because I was looking at semi-hollows back then as well, mainly the Gibson Midtown Standard which was trending used for about that at the time? I actually remember thinking to myself that there's no way this thing will ever sell but if it did at least I'd get something great in return!!!
Well since it sold-View attachment 77068
Just to summarize, I got a new decent amplifier today, a brand new Gretsch Streamliner will arrive next week, & I've got a barley used Gibson Midtown arriving tomorrow morning!!! Plus, somehow even with my shipping costs, P.P., & Reverb fees, I still ended up making about $80 in the process, LOL!!!
It's a good thing I like Semi-Hollows because I just went from having none to owning two of them in two days!!!
