Well, not technically new per se, but I returned the Deluxe Strat Plus to it's stock form, leaving a '00 Black Strat body as the perfect compliment to the Reverse CBS style neck that I got from Ayrton several years ago... So taking inspiration from Jimi's, Gilmour's and The Edge's Black Strats, I put together my own version of a 1969 Stratocaster.
Specs:
-American Deluxe Strat Body
-American Standard Bridge w/ Stamped Saddles
-MIM Reverse CBS Style Maple Neck (9.5" radius, Chunky C profile)
-Fender Custom Shop '69 pickups
-Parchment Pickguard/Aged White Pickup Covers & Knobs
-CTS/Switchcraft/CRL/Orange Drop wiring
-Neck Tone/Bridge Tone
-.011-.049 Tuned Eb
I really like the 69 pickups, with a little hair this guitar sounds like a clone of the "Lenny" studio version, and they hold up well under gain. The bridge is a little bright, but I really worked the pickup heights to give 5 complimentary positions. My favorite is the neck and neck+mid, but that's probably true for any pickup set.
Without further ado...
