New Guitar! (Pictures)

Re: New Guitar! (Pictures)

Esquire WITH a bigsby! That's 2 GASes in one!

Looks cool, good luck with it! I really like the color too.

Re: New Guitar! (Pictures)

+1 kinda. I've been keeping an eye on this thread and the more I look at it the more I think the headstock looks pretty cool. I still think the white knobs look weird on the chrome. I should really post some pics to revive that thread I made about finishing my tele project (died quickly after people realized I had no pics) so that everyone can criticize my unusual choice of knobs as well.

I guess people don't like the white knobs. I think they look awesome!

Is that is short scale neck I'm seeing on it. Anyways the guitar looks great.

No its a regular 25.5" neck.

This guitar cured about 3 gasses for the moment. Tele gas, Bigsby gas, and a 1 pickup guitar gas.

Eric, that is one gorgeous guitar! If it sounds even half as good as it looks, it'll smoke. What are the two end radii on the compound fretboard?

Re: New Guitar! (Pictures)

Like some other people who responded...that jag bridge with the bigsby man...I wish I thought of it...its beautiful...all of it...

Re: New Guitar! (Pictures)

Now that I have been playing it a bit I am not really fond of the dark setting.

I like the other 2 settings. Maybe it is time to add a second pickup?

I am thinking a TV Jones Gretsch reproduction in the neck spot. Yes? No?

I say go for it! Nothing wrong with taking a kool guitar and making it even kooler!

BAWHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, in a place that smells like someone sh1t, it is only appropriate to have a trem that is sh1t. LOL!

Seriously, if that worked to actually flush the toilet, I am so getting on for my toilet. IMO, it isnt good for anything else. :biglaugh:

Re: New Guitar! (Pictures)

I have been playing it and I think I need to add a neck pickup to it.

I love having the tone switch there (except the dark setting, but that is getting modified) so I will be keeping that.

I plan on adding a TV Jones Gretsch Repo to it and a blend pot.

I usually keep both pickups running and don't do any switching so I think the blend pot will be the best solution.

With the 3x3 headstock and bigsby I think it is really calling for a neck pickup.

Re: New Guitar! (Pictures)

Negative. You will put a P90 with hex screws in there. That is final.

;)

Re: New Guitar! (Pictures)

Dude, that is really, really cool. I really dig that guitar!! I love your thinking on the whole project. Do you plan on keeping that maple neck raw?? I don't mind a raw, unfinished maple neck myself. They feel "right" and much higher quality than one would expect.

I love your thinking on the headstock. The LP cut wouldn't look right on a Tele, but throw your own idea in and everything is ALWAYS all good.

That would be sweet! It DEFINITELY needs some chunk for the neck pup!! The TV Jones would get your some chunk but still keep it Tele-ish as far as tone is concerned

Re: New Guitar! (Pictures)

Thank God you came to your senses. And TV Jones is a great start.

Magnatron. English mount.

That is all.

I think I will keep the maple neck raw. I just need to make sure I keep it wiped down!

Magnatron eh? Sounds interesting. I was thinking of going with the Classic.

I already have a p90 inaother guitar. If I add the hex screws it will be to that one.

Did anyone know what size would be needed?

I will have to dig up that thread.

No doubt. A coat or two of simple Tung oil yearly will still keep the raw feel but prevent warping as well as dirt penetration!! It's worth it!!

Re: New Guitar! (Pictures)

Nice! I really like what you did with the headstock... simple, no frills, utilitarian look that the tele is all about. That worked out great. Everything looks great... I wouldn't have chosen white knobs, but it isn't my guitar. I also like where you're going with the TV Jones and the blend pot. That will be a nice touch. Congrats and enjoy!
