Re: NEW Mesa Boogies

Sounds pretty cool. I didn't really like the Rectoverb I had for a while, but I wouldn't mind trying a Stiletto.

Re: NEW Mesa Boogies

None of those really catch my eye. I like the regular Rectifier series, so maybe the Roadster would be cool, but as far as the Road King goes, for that money, I could get something that would be more spot on for what I want. I've never been terribly impressed with the Trident series either.

Re: NEW Mesa Boogies

Those Roadsters do look really cool. I wonder what kind of street prices they'll have. I doubt if it matters, one can buy two ENGL powerballs for the price of a one normal DR around here. The price increase on Mesas for the overseas trip is insane. It's mysterious that many other brands, such as VHT, experience no such raise.

Thanks! Not bad if one lives in the US, and a bit interesting so. It's too bad they'll be at least about 3000€ (=3600$) when they cross the pond.

I've always wondered if someone would be willing to buy an amp in the states for someone overseas and just send it themselves...the import/export/customs fees would be a lot but it would be cheaper than trying to buy it straight up in Europe no?

Re: NEW Mesa Boogies

Big Block V12 what?!

I can't picture something more than twice the power (1400@2ohms/1200@4ohms) of my current amp (600w@2ohms). But I kinda want one!

Re: NEW Mesa Boogies

I'd love to get a Boogie, but you can buy a decent used car for the same price...:chairfall

It's a good idea in theory, but there are a few buts. The customs work an extra 25%, then there's shippping and insurance. An amp can be damaged quite easily in the shipping too. And then we use different power here in Europe. I don't know how much an adapter or a modification would cost and how they'd really work. It could be really worthwhile nevertheless. But it's strange that this stuff only seems to affect Boogies, Bogner and VHT are priced just the same here as over there.
