New Microphone Day

Well, actually I bought it two days ago on Monday. I bought it from a guy on Craigslist. It's a Sennheiser e609. I figured $70 was a pretty good deal considering they go for around $110 new. This one is in great shape and it might as well be new.

Now I can finally crank up my Marshall JVM410H and let yall hear it the way I hear it, that is if I can remember how to record with my Roland VS-1880. It's been so long that I've recorded anything that I'll probably have to read over the manual a few times to refresh my memory.

I've had a mic to record with for years, but I don't think it would be very conducive to record a cranked up amp with. It's an Audio Technica AT4033a. Now I'm happy that I can get to crankin and recording!!:)

Re: New Microphone Day

My friend has one of those...I think you'll like it a lot. Very easy to hang over the grill of the amp, and no stand needed.

Re: New Microphone Day

Those are convenient. I find them a little darker in the mids than a 57, I use mine on some of my brighter/thinner tones. It's a solid mic.

Re: New Microphone Day

want. with the hanging option and no stand, I really want! lemme know how you like it!

Re: New Microphone Day

These are good mics. I'm a bigger fan of the e906, but for the money you paid, that's a very very good mic.

Re: New Microphone Day

Just so you know a 4033 works great on guitar cabs.

I like it back about 2-3 feet so I get a bit of the sound of the room.

Good find Jolly.

I'm still thinking about picking 1 of those up in the future for live use.

I was thinking about using it as well about 10 feet back or so along with the Sennheiser.

You can get a very nice blend that way. Pan them apart around 10 and 2 o'clock for a nice spread.

Now go rock that JVM!
