New MIM Lake Placid Blue Standards

for ages i've been wanting a Tele in LPB.... now Fender goes and releases the 09 Standards in that finnish!!!! Oddly i want one to add Humbuckers to like one of Pete Townshends stage axes from the 1982 tour... he used it for capo'ed tunes like Baba and Drowned....

stay tune one of these may be mine right soon

It's about time they brought back that finish on those. I remember that being a hot color on the MIM's back in the early-mid 1990's. I love me some LPB.

the MIM Standard Strat can be had in rosewood or maple board... the tele is only in Maple board... or correctly a one piece maple neck if you don't include the skunk strip...


these new MIM with the larger frets are kind of good!!!!

wow! fender sure did some nice upgrades on the mim standards!
i have a good sounding one that i can't play anymore because of its worn down small frets...and my gibson...

Was just at a local GC and they had a handful of the new MIM's, a couple in LPB with rosewood boards. In person they look great. They feel and sound good too. For the price point, a very good buy. I'd gig with one in a second. The only immediate change I'd make right off the top is wiring the lower tone to the bridge. It needs it. Otherwise, everything else as-is.

Didn`t the prices go way up on the MIM Standard line,like at $549 now? If thats the case i don`t believe they`re worth it. They were just $399!!!

$449 is the price I saw on all of them. Still worth it, IMO.

I have so much GAS for the Tele that I've been tempted to sell a couple axes to fund one. Though after seeing the LPB Strat yesterday, I'd want one of those too. LOL
