A little back story. Today is the 20th anniversary of my dear mum’s passing and I had planned to get something for me out of what I’d saved from my inheritance (most of it is tied up in the house). I was thinking of something small and simple like a pedal, may be a Friedman Smallbox as I like the other 2 pedals I’ve got. However, for quite a while I’d been looking for an older turret board Marshall for no other reason than I wanted to replace the ‘65 JTM 45 I once had (birth year too) that I sold for the lowly sum of £100 and regretted for all these years. Well one of those would set me back maybe £5000 these days so out of the question. Well my mum must have been looking down as this amp showed up when I wasn’t expecting it. It’s a ‘73 turret board 100 super tremolo and it’s all original… everything. I’ve checked to make sure it’s works although I haven’t tried the trem as yet, the amp is dead quiet at idle with no hum but hit a chord and it’s fine. No crackly pots or anything so I’ll leave it alone and play every now and and hopefully gig it if I can get my band up and running again. This is the amp I’m going to leave my grandson along with a couple of guitars ( my boys have already laid their claim to some) and whether he uses it or not hopefully it will help him later in life. So a nod to my mum whilst I’m sipping some Glenfiddich this evening basking in the glory of this wonderful amp. Cheers!
