New Products - Opinions Please / On-Board Circuits

Re: New Products - Opinions Please / On-Board Circuits

I have two of the old Leo Fender designed Music Man Sabre II models, which have low-impedance humbuckers, the onboard buffered preamp, a bright switch, and active Treble and Bass controls. Leo went on to design he Passive Treble and Bass (PTB) controls with the G&L models.

I like the active circuit of the Sabre, though I'm probably in the minority.

I always thought I'd like to add a mid-range boost, to really fatten up the tone and push the amp harder for solos AND; I thought it would be cool to have a little Dan Armstrong "Orange Squeezer" compressor dropped in, too. The OS was a cool little gizmo.

Not sure I would dare to modify any of my BBE-era G&Ls, or any of my Gibson LPs.

I hope that's helpful.

I've seen this from other companies but none ever hang on for long enough to actually be useful...

Make a rotary switch that we could use to dream up all kinds of weird combinations. % positions? Think (insert some weird number but for the sake of argument let's say ten). Something where you could do all kinds of wiring with like series out of phase with one cut coil on a bridge humber and then you move for the next position and you can get your neck + mid in parallel.

Want to add something "seymoury"? Throw in the ability to have it boost the signal or maybe a even more dramatic and versatile Varitone.
