I happened to come accross some extra coin over the weekend, so with the permission of my wife ( LOL ! ), I was allowed to go to Guitar Center and get a brand new toy . I've always wanted a Les Paul but didn't want to pay the extroadinant prices for a Gibson, so I decided to check out some of the Epiphones . For some reason, this one stood out from the bunch and begged for me to play it. I plugged it into a Marshaal and I'm glad that I did. I know it's a Goth Studio but I love this F'n tone beast. Besides Metal, it can also handle Blues and Classic Rock as well ,which is what I play in my band. Besides for only $350.00 , I think it sounds better than some of Gibson's overpriced stuff .

Really ? Aside from giving mine a quick setup and string change, I couldn't find any issues with mine at all. Plays like a charm and sounds great.

And, in the end, that is the only thing that matters! Congrats on the guitar, but better, congrats on the wife!! LOL

Re: New Score Again !!!!

I recently repaired a broken-off headstock on one for a friend (wifey and he had a fight,,she slammed it on the ground headstock first). After the repair, I was playing it...and I was very impressed with both the playability and the sound. Well worth the $350 you paid!! Nice guitar!

I have one of those. Only reason I bought, it was simply the nicest Epiphone I have ever played and sounded killer.

Happy NGD and enjoy.

Re: New Score Again !!!!

The fun thing about Epiphones is that the quality and playability can be all over the map. I like picking up any that catch my eye, just to see if it's a gem or a dud. That goes for any midline guitar.

I've got a few that turned out to be just as good as more expensive guitars.....an Epiphone acoustic, Godin LG P90, and Chinese Fender Modern Player Tele. Not to mention some cherry picked DeArmonds. Every once in awhile you score a killer guitar at a bargain basement price.

The first thing to change is usually the pots, but not always. A good setup, good electronics and pickups. A lot of inexpensive guitars really come alive with those upgrades.

In a way I do agree with you but, I got lucky with this one. There are absolutely no issues at all with the pots or the pickups on this guitar at all . In my 40 years of playing guitar ( I'm 53 ), this has to be one of the best axes I have ever come across. Even though it's a Goth model, it can handle Classic rock , Metal, and even Blues which is what I love about it.
