New Seagull day....

Re: New Seagull day....

Looks pretty! What wood is on the sides? I've liked the Seagull guitars that I've played. They're the same company as Godin and Simon & Patrick aren't they?

Re: New Seagull day....

Thanks, Godin indeed! Sides are maple, same as the splitback...it is actually made with the same wood combination as a violin:-)...
I am giving it a major time in the playing department....these things needs to be played alot....I am looking forward to how it will sound in a couple of months from now.

Re: New Seagull day....

Beautiful guitar! I picked up an artist series Seagull in 2010. It doesn't have the flame maple back and fancy binding yours has, but I love it.

Re: New Seagull day....

I had an S6 of sorts some years back, and I really liked it. Sold it to a friend when I went overseas . He's still digging it!

Maple acoustics are schmexy indeed. Seems to have become more popular lately; in the classical realm, quite a few builders are doing maple back/sides with either a spruce or cedar top.

Re: New Seagull day....

nice acoustic!
years ago I was in a small shop and heard a Seagull through an acoustic amp ... it sounded so natural, I was really impressed ... obviously, since I still remember how it sounded.
enjoy!
