The factory in Japan that made all the Professional models has closed as a result of the economic collapse following the tsunami (or rather, the economic collapse compounded by the tsunami). I would assume the Professional series was completely discontinued as a result, even though the page may not have been taken down just yet.

However, browsing the main site and each model, I do not see any Professional series models, including the RR5, RR3, or DK2/DK2M. It's the X and JS series for imports.

I'm going to miss those. On the bright side, they'll always be worth checking out on the used market, I imagine. $300 or so for a used Japanese Jackson was usually a pretty solid value.

Kiss those days goodbye. Though the "discontinued" aspect never was a strong selling point for those, the "no longer made in Japan period" will see an increase in asking prices, at least.
1990 neckthrough Pros are already nearing used USA prices.

Yeah, I kinda figured. Personally, I like the USA models so much that I'd rather buy one of those every five years than another Pro series every year.
