New wah pedal for me!!!

Re: New wah pedal for me!!!

Tried my friends Teese the other day...deadon vintage Hendrix/Beck/Clapton tones in spades!
Yeah research...and then some will do it for you, there is no gain in slacking, Thomas and me at work, we often study all kinds of weird stuff, often finding alot outside of the guitarsworld!!

SOUNDS GREAT DON'T IT!!!

I've tried a few wahs that were close but this thing just nails those old Vox tones to a T!

Re: New wah pedal for me!!!

I know this sounds funny, but one reason I'd swap out my Fulltone for a Teese is because of where the power jack is situated. I'm forced to use a battery for my wah, just because the power jack is butted up against the shelf on my board. On traditional wahs, it's situated in a better spot.

Plus, I just like hearing wahs that do exactly what I want to hear.......maybe the Picture Wah is it. I like the Fulltone, but I almost liked my Budda Bud Wah more because of the dramatic vocal-like shift in the middle of it's travel.

If you liked the vocal quality of the Budda you'd LOVE the Tesse Picture...

We're both fans of the same type of wah users, so I trust your opinion of the Picture Wah. The Fulltone is great, but it hasn't completely blown me away with it's fundamental sound.

At this point, I see pedals as trading cards. They all have a sound, and a monetary value. I like my Clyde Deluxe, but if I heard one that kills it, I'd swap them in a second. I should take my Clyde Deluxe to my local Teese dealer, and spend an hour comparing them. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to swap one for another. With wahs, I'm looking for a certain sweep, and I don't care who nails it, but that's the one I'll want. The more vocal-like it is, the more I'll like it. The Budda had something special, and the more I hear about Teese, the more I know a little shopping will end my search.

Nailing the tone and sweep is what Geoffrey Teese lives for! My own experience with the original Fulltone Clyde was that while it was obviously a good wah with a quality tone, the sweep just never felt quite right, almost as if its travel was too long. The first step down on a Teese of any model makes you realize that Geoffrey is a specialist. He signs his emails "Peace, Love and Wah." I think you would love the RMC range, and you would find something amongst it that perfectly suits what you're looking for. I used my RMC1 at a funk gig last night, and it continues to blow me away, three years later. It's got a beautiful "liquid" quality that you just can't get tired of. The Picture Wah will be my next wah purchase.

Cheers............................wahwah

Re: New wah pedal for me!!!

I'm sitting here reading this thread, and realize I need to run a work errand that's a block away from a major Teese dealer.....not to mention all the other good brands.

Looks like I'll be rockin some wahs on the clock! LOL

Re: New wah pedal for me!!!

Well....no luck on demoing Teese wah's at The Amp Shop, Studio City. Sold out.

I asked the owner when he'd have a bunch that I could hear side by side, and he said "it's unlikely because half his order is pre paid by customers." That means I have to find a dealer that actually has some in stock. Apparently, they're a hot item these days.

Always have been, especially since the case shortage that he endured a little over a year ago. It set his production way behind during the time he was revamping his units to be "FuZz Friendly" & getting his European Licenses procured. He is a great guy to talk to, really knows his stuff. I got my Picture Wah about the time he was getting set back up to fill backorders all over the world. It was kinda a hectic time to find an extra to spare, because once they hit the shelves they were leaving the stores, they were all preorders.

Joe, it's tought to find a place that has one or 2 RMC wahs in stock but I was VERY luck in finding 5 out of 6 to try out at once!!! I spent a lot of time with each one of them, if you have any questions feel free to drop me a line...I can also get you a few clips to listen to for you if it would help.

Re: New wah pedal for me!!!

Why not get the old 847? I've always wondered. Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Randy Rhoads, Tom Petty, and Jonny Lang use(d) the 847, why not you? Is it the bypass issue?

I assume you talking about the reissue V847? If you are then Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, and Jonny Lang never use(d) them...mostly because they don't sound like an original Clyde McCoy. If you are talking about an original Clyde McCoy Vox pedal...the ones that Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, and Jonny Lang played (Randy Rhoads used a late 70's Thomas Organ Crybaby) the biggest reason I don't play one is because then cost nearly a grand if you can find one.
