Next project...

I feel really good about my strat right now.. Should my next project (money pit) be an esquire or another strat? I love both layouts so I'm just looking for a little more direction.

My vote is a Tele. I have been wanting to do another one myself lately as it's been 6 years or so since I have had one.

That strat almost looks like a tom delonge. If that's your plan, that gets my vote.

I just finished up a single pickup esquire-ish build and I never get tired of single pickup guitars. The way I look at it...if you can't get it done with one pickup, you can't get it done.

I'm interested in the wiring challenge of getting as many different tones out of a single pickup as I can. Series, parallel, split, different tone caps, etc. I've got a rotary knob, caps and resistors, and pots. Just need the guitar + pickup.

I'd go for the Tele. You just got your Strat dialed in so that will give you a different kind of sound to play with. Alternately, get a semi-hollow body something from Warmoth and go a whole different direction.

I should take this motto onboard. My builds have too many frets to even consider a neck pup.
