NGD: 2007 Ibanez XPT700

Re: NGD: 2007 Ibanez XPT700

As there was no interest in this one after a few weeks being up for sale in various auction sites/klassifieds; looks like I'll be hanging on to it. Nothing wrong with it and it's a great player so I just may have to tinker with it a bit...maybe swap in an EMG JH Set.

Thanks! It's a nice guitar for sure. It hung in MGR for a long time and I couldn't figure out why no one was buying it. Price dropped to a "why not" level so I gave it a whirl. The DiMarzios are nice, but I really liked the Het Set when I had one in a prior guitar so I think it'll make the XPT a real powerhouse.

I'm always buying and selling; esp if I run across a good deal on a nice guitar. I try 'em out and if I like something I try to operate by the "one in, one out" method; as well as being how I upgrade my gear over time via buying & reselling profits and/or trading up. Was looking to cut down to 4 so this one was "going" and the Cherry LP "staying" but then I decided to pay off a couple of small balances (I hate having ANY credit card debt and try to live on a cash basis) by selling the LP and some parts/a project that wasn't going to get done. In summary; I sold off everything but the XPT700, wound up with the Raw Power LP and paid off the things I wanted as well as covering 2/3 of the price I paid for the XPT700.

^ I wish I could discipline myself to do that. I fall in love with every junkyard dog I find. :banghead:

Btw, nice axe. :)

Hey...you're preaching to the choir my man. If I could keep my ass out of Music Go Round and Guitar Center and off of eBay, CL and, my new fav, Reverb...I might just spend a bit more time playing. Thanks!

Yeah, I had a real bad ebay habit for awhile... Had to go cold turkey..

Prob I have now is that I still need to thin the herd, but I cant imagine parting with any of my current babys. I wish I could say heck with it and sell all but 1 or two.. lord knows Im A)not much of a player, B) don't get much play time anyhow to give them the love they deserve..

I was good when I had the '78 JMP Combo, '89 Fender C.S. Charcoal Burst Lace Sensor/Clapton Mid-Boost Floyded Strat and '82 Gibson Les Paul Standard then I went through a divorce and sold 'em all.

I hang onto the ones I like and connect with but I have no problem letting go of I find one I like better than one I already have. Can't keep 'em all! ;)

My tastes have changed a little bit but I've picked up few I really like. Was shooting to cut down to 4 but the Xiphos staying around is fine.
