NGD-80s Hard Rock greatnes

I get this bad boy tomorrow. I always loved the look of the original and I couldn't justify the Custom Shop version; so, I jumped on these new ones.

In fact, I got lucky. This is coming from Sweetwater and I got on their list when I first saw the guitars introduced at NAMM. I called my guy there, Patrick, and he put me on the waiting list at #2. They received two guitars, but one had some issues. Luckily the first dude on the list was waiting for another guitar besides this one; so, he said he could wait until June. They called me to see if I still wanted it, and I said "Hells yeah!".

I can't wait to play some good old RATT and other 80s stuff with it.

However, I haven't told the wife yet and I need to come up with a good justification or trade-off. I'm thinking something nice for Mothers Day might do the trick. Thoughts?

This is a picture of my actual guitar. They sent some to me to let me see it before they packaged it for shipment. It seemed like kind of a tease to me.

Anyway, have a great week and turn it up!

That is seriously awesome! I've been having an 80s itch lately and I'd love something exactly like that.

Gotta love delivery companies. Anyway, it finally arrived today and it is glorious!

Neck is very fast. However, it is a bit different than the one that was on my MIJ Charvel San Dimas. This one doesn't have the rounded edges like the MIJ Charvel neck. Even though it is a one piece with a skunk stripe, it has the feel of my friend's EVH striped series guitar necks. I've played all three of his and a few others and it feels pretty much the same. No surprise there because it is coming from the same facility in Mexico. However, like I said it seems easy to play. The hand glides easily along the neck.

I have an RTM in another guitar and love it, but I've never had a Quarter Pound pickup before and I really like it.

Feel and tone seem outstanding from limited time I've had with it. Plus, the look is just *****in'. It didn't come with a case, but I have a Charvel SKB I kept that came with my San Dimas that works for this one. Also of note, the back of headstock is autographed by Warren.

Anyone that has a question, feel free to ask.

Have a great weekend and RATT-n-Roll!
