Re: NGD Charvel
I can only rock a traditional shape...strat, LP, PRS , Tele. I had a friend (Dave) who had a Warlock. I loved that thing and could get around it all day and twice on Sunday's but I looked a total berk holding it. Dave looked like Randy Rhodes holding it.
Side note...Dave was the most naturally gifted player I've ever known. He had no clue what so ever what he was doing from a theory point of view. He coudn't tell you a note or a chord. He didn't even audition the warlock he had. He just took it off the wall, paid for it and took it home. But damn if he couldn't play some of the most angular leads you've ever heard. It was all part of the 1990 ...me and my childhood buds rent a house and put all the instruments in the basement and quickly learn that egg cartons do nothing to soundproof a room. Fender pro reverb, JCM 800, a Ludwig drum kit/Gibraltar rack complete with china boys at 9 and 3 that Neil Peart would have been proud to take on tour. So many jam sessions. I even became semi competent on the drums at one point. Lots of original metal tunes got hammered out down there with Dave doing some of the most mind boggling leads you ever heard...half were the licks the other half was trying to figure out how somebody with so little time on the instrument could do what he was doing!
