NGD! Epi Worn SG

Well, third time is the charm. This is the third guitar I've gotten shipped from Zzounds, the other two had various issues (loose truss rod, uneven frets, etc) but I finally got one that seems perfect. Zzounds was very patient and great to deal with (I talked to Dan L. each time, great guy), I never once felt like they were even bothered by me messaging them or that they didn't care because it was a cheaper guitar. Dan always promptly responded and made sure my problems were taken care of. Any time I am not buying from the local store, I will definitely be buying from them. Anyway, after swapping to my EXL115 strings, lowering the bridge, and checking intonation, the guitar was ready to go, and sounded and played great.

And of course, my Epiphone bumper sticker was cut almost in half from the factory, as usual.

That body looks great. So does the rest of the guitar, for that matter. Love it well bro.

Re: NGD! Epi Worn SG

Thanks guys! I'm really glad everything was resolved and I finally for a great little SG to bond with.

Re: NGD! Epi Worn SG

I really enjoy the flat, wide faced neck of this guitar. Seems like all my other guitars have more of a fat but thin faced fretboard, which seems like it would work better for my short fingers, but don't seem to work as well for me as this SG does. As soon as I have the spare cash, I will be adding coil tapping, after changing the pickup magnets to the alnico 8's.

Very nice! Epis have come SO far since I last bought one (at MARS, remember them?) The last time I was at a GC I was drooling on all the great Epi SG's, they seem so much better built now. And the neck shape/profiles are across the board (ha ha) much better feeling. When I got mine, I literally tried EVERY Epi SG and they all were "tooth-picky" and the one I ended up with was marginally bigger. Now, every single one I try, the neck feels nice and full (and the frets are put in better)

Enjoy your NGD, that thing looks great!

Sorry, but that's a pet peeve of mine. So also is there (a physical location), their (possessive/ownership), and they're (a contraction of they and are).

Not so difficult to get it right.

They're happy that their car is over there, out of the rain.

No need to apologize, I would much rather someone teach me the proper terminology, so I'm not going around saying it wrong. Thank you!

I get very bothered with "their, there and they're" also. Especially when people use the wrong one when they mean "they're", it's the easiest one! Misuse of "your and you're" gets me as well.

+1. The guitar market's gotten a lot more competitive since the recession, and we benefit from having better guitars to choose from. Epi's stepped up their game with quality and features, and have kept their prices down. Epi's built now are better and more consistent than in the 1990's. They used to have no-name tuners, mini pots, & terrible PU's. They've fixed those issues and have introduced so many models, both regular production and limited editions. I had made a list and since 2000, they've had over 30 set neck SG's counting all the finishes, colors, PU's, pickguards, & tail pieces. That's pretty ambitious.
