NGD! Epi Worn SG

Re: NGD! Epi Worn SG

That's what I really like about epiphone. They release just as many different models as Gibson, but they do it at an affordable price, and you get a good, solid guitar out of it. Sure, it's not a Gibson, or a Suhr or anything like that, but it's a great guitar, with a great tone. I am debating on whether or not I want to put humbucker sized p90s in this one.

I wish I could say I picked out the awesome finish on this one, but it was a gift from my girlfriend. She and I both love natural finish guitars. I would say she did an excellent job picking this one.

Looks very very nice. The kind of finish I like. Epiphone has definitely good guitars for the money, compared to what they had a few years back, and that also includes the pickups.

I really wish they would do a reissue of the Korina SG model from the late 90's early 00's. I had one and it sounded gorgeous after swapping the bridge pickup to an Sh1. U regret selling it and would love to have one with the much improved quality currently offered.

Beautiful guitar. I recently bought an Epi G-400 Pro, and I love it. Have you had any problems with "neck dive" on yours? If so, have you simply switched to a wider strap as way around it?

Re: NGD! Epi Worn SG

Yeah, it dives a bit if I let go of the neck. At this point, I've just stayed mindful of it. Hasn't hit the ground yet.

I still can't for the life of me figure out what they were thinking with the bright orange pickup selector tip. I'm definitely going to put a black one on it instead...

If I had to guess it's in keeping with the worn/vintage aesthetics. I have an 82 Les Paul Custom that a lot of the cream binding has turned that color, it also has the "blues burn" on the headstock so some of that oranging maybe from time spent in smoky bars

Re: NGD! Epi Worn SG

That makes sense, but they definitely used the wrong shade or something. It looks OK in the pictures, but it's a LOT more orange in person. Like... unnaturally orange. I may actually go with a "reliced" looking vintage style switch, to stay with the look.
