NGD: Epiphone Gothic SG, Loaded with Duncans!

I traded my fake Gibson and my small Vox amp for an Epiphone Gothic SG. It is a great sounding guitar with the Full Shred (Bridge) and the JB (Bridge version in neck.) Pics and sound clip to come soon, as I am just getting acquainted with it's weird wiring.

Seems like a wise trade off.

When you photograph the guitar, include images of its control wiring.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1445547871.212563.jpg Here's a photo of the beast. it seems to have the pots wired differently to most SGs. It has Volume Volume on top, Tone Tone below. I should get used to the wiring. It is a beast though with the Full Shred and JB. The JB is the bridge version in the neck.

Hm...

We might have a slightly different definition of what makes great guitar (porn) photography! Way to show of your NGD... ;)

I tried it through my school's Roland Cube amp.. and HOLY ****. My teacher even complimented my setup skills.

Perhaps pics out of the case or where the light can hit it? Looks like knobs in a case with strings ;) lol

Jokes aside, congrats on the guitar and for loving your tone! :headbang:

Thanks. It rocks, and it rocked so hard it killed my Peavey!

Eh.. well, it did have a burning cap smell. Then one day at rehearsal (first band situation) It smoked up and DIED.

It has Volume Volume on top, Tone Tone below.

Like a Rickenbacker or a PRS Singlecut, perhaps?

If there is enough slack in the cabling, it would be a spanner job to relocate the pots to their traditional and familiar positions.

Re: NGD: Epiphone Gothic SG, Loaded with Duncans!

Nah, It's fine. I like the wiring as it is. It's handy to have the volumes seperate, so I don't roll my tone off when I'm using it. It sounds like Angus Young on Steroids!

JB neck, Full Shred Bridge….

EVIL!!!!!!!!!! In a really good way…

Re: NGD: Epiphone Gothic SG, Loaded with Duncans!

Yep.. I love it! Plus it sounded so great that it killed my Peavey amp.

No its not ''meh'' A pickup can't destroy an amplifier end of story. Stop saying it.

Sell a guitar or 2 and get another amp.

Re: NGD: Epiphone Gothic SG, Loaded with Duncans!

Welp, a trip to the hock shop is in order, i suppose. but idk how to stop this Peavey from shutting down randomly. It just stops working, then works a minute later. I replaced a burnt resistor and it seems to have not fixed the problem.

Fuse is fine, i didn't see it blown inside, so I do not know what the hell to do. Guy traded it to me for my keyboard.
