NGD Epiphone SG G400

Re: NGD Epiphone SG G400

I went ahead a put my locking Grover tuners and Tone Pro’s bridge and saddle on it. Cannot stop tinkering, need help!

Re: NGD Epiphone SG G400

I've been trying to sell a pretty decent g400 with an Air Norton and a Tone Zone for 3 months and haven't had a single inquiry. Is 275 too much?

I think you have the opposite problem. If you reinstall the original pickups you could sell it for that much and sell the DiMarzios for $100 more.

Just give it time, sometimes it takes a while.

Maybe just say "upgraded with DiMarzio pickups"

Seeks like only the Ibanez HSH superstrat crowd really knows of and covets non-SuperDistortion, non-PAF dmz hb's. Most of the rest just get really confused.

Re: NGD Epiphone SG G400

I already have a pair of SD pickups that will go into at sometime but I was really enjoying the stock pickups that were in it when I was playing last night.

I have the SD 59 NECK SH-1N and 59 BRIDGE SH-1B from my old G400 sitting and waiting for use if I decide to put them in there.

'59's usually work well in SG's. They have a lot of treble & bass, which compliments SG's woods which are usually heavy on midrange. I was a big fan of C8's in SG's for a few years, but switched out the A8's for UOA5's, which give a richer texture and the output is more 'relaxed', and less in-your-face. For most SG players, C8's are a great option, paired with a '59N. There's been a lot of recommendations for that combo here in previous years.

Those frets looks GREAT! I polished the frets on my bro's G400 (the fret ends were peefect from the factory) but I got nowhere as smooth as yours.

I actually swapped the magnet on the bridge pickup for an A8 and really enjoy the sound I am getting.

It has been way to long since I had the SD’s in their original state to make a comparison in sound but I have no regrets swapping the magnets out.
