It's the season of giving right? So I decided to give a gift to myself. My dream guitar has finally arrived! :14: I decided to wait until Christmas to open it, and it was definitely worth the wait, this guitar is AMAZING,

Fender Stratocaster - Made in USA. I love looking at that writing, I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.

Talk about glossy, I almost thought there was a layer of plastic over the maple.

After a long day of non-stop Hendrix...

I've been playing this guitar non-stop, I knew it was a major crap shoot to buy a guitar like this before trying, but I got a good one. The factory setup surprised me a lot, I didn't need to make any adjustments to it. I don't think I could have bought a more perfect guitar, it sounds awesome, and it plays awesome. The CS Fat 50s are great pickups, I really enjoy them through my valveking. I've been jamming on a lot of RHCP and Hendrix with them. They're going to be switched out for 2 SSL-1s and an SSL-5 later this week, though. The trem has surprised me a lot as well, it takes a good amount of abuse while still staying in tune.

This is actually my first time buying a brand new guitar besides my first guitar(a yamaha acoustic), so it's really weird for me worrying about damaging it. I'm loving the vintage look of the creme plastic parts and the olympic white body. I thought it was going to be a lot whiter but it's really more of a creme, which I am in love with!

I think she's gonna be getting a new mint green pickguard when I drop the Duncan singles in.

Nice. Looks like the Woodstock Strat. Wish I had one...

Tapatalk 2 did this...

Re: NGD - Fender Content

A white strat with maple fretboard is one of the best looking guitars ever!
Congrats, dude!

Re: NGD - Fender Content

Looks gorgeous. I don't understand the lure of mint green, I always thought they look kinda disgusting. White on White imo looks way better.

Re: NGD - Fender Content

That looks good - I'm hoping I'll be able to show off a little something along these lines myself in a day or two...

Re: NGD - Fender Content

Thanks everyone!

Love that look! Question: why so eager to change pickups? I have the Fat 50's and they're awesome!

I totally agree the Fat 50s are awesome pickups! An old friend from high school called me up a couple days after I ordered my strat asking to start up our old thrash band again. I figured I'd need some more output so I ordered the SSL-5. Then my OCD kicked in so I decided to complete the set.

Re: NGD - Fender Content

that looks amazing Love this guitar im a huge strat guy took me a while to get used to the maple fret board but now I really love it. Great guitar man !!! I also love the stock pick ups on those guitar and find that after I change them out I always go back to stocks.

Re: NGD - Fender Content

If you're going to do the new guard/pickups thing, I'd just build up a new complete wiring harness and not muck up the Fender wiring. I'd recommend a superswitch too.

A nice look would also be parchment but its not a far cry from what you have - the green should look something like this (albeit with Rosewood Fretboard):

Congrats! She's beautiful!

yeah as cool as the Fat 50s are (and I think they are much better than the old Am Std pickups), the ssl-1 + ssl-5 combo is awesome. so get ready :) Also I like the mint green idea and I think it's awesome with the "aged white" plastic.

Re: NGD - Fender Content

Beautiful guitar and I agree with an earlier post ref making up a new guard and leaving that one stock and intact. Enjoy.
