Man there is going to be so much testing to do in here ....clip's, video's, comparison's, playthrough's and the like eh ..what can I say? I like to actually play my guitars :bigthumb:

Let's start w/ this one recorded straight out of the box. Action was sky high ..dude who set it up must have been a massive Jimmy Page fan or used it for archery practice :laugh2:

Otherwise everything was A-Okay! It looks fantastic & sounded sweet af. I have the action right down to where I like it now. Came right down nice & easy. Now it plays smoooth like butter. Not a hint of fret-buzz. Speaking of frets ,,,they are incredible....absolutely perfectt/flawless in every concievable way. I thought the "circle fret system' felt a bit different when I played one of their guitar's at the store (Strat copy) but I cant even notice anything w/ this one....maybe cuz Jumbo vs. medium frets? I don't know....it just rips.

The pup's are Duncan's and absolutely awesome/perfectly balanced. The Pegasus in the bridge feels, plays and sounds amazing...even when split. The single's totally crush as well :bigthumb:

Anyway..here's looking forward to putting this beauty through it's paces :D

Just splits the Pegasus. Toggles are probably a better bet for that than push-pull's cuz they're a hair easier/quicker to work with on the fly ..at least for me. The Pegasus sounds really sweet split too :bigthumb:. Feature wise it's a pretty straightforward axe, no onboard boosts or filters/EQ and the like...

Yeah, I totally fell for how it looked the moment I saw that one in that rack at the store. I think this one they sent me has an even nicer looking top.

And yes after a decent setup it is an oustanding player. Really comfortable w/a smooth superfast (but def not Wizard thin) neck & awesome upper fret access. Plays like dream , one of those axes that feel like you've already had them a long time, even when they're brand new :bigthumb:

I loke toggles better than push/pulls as well, but the best for me is push/push, like the S1 switch- but those knobs don't look right on every guitar.

Yeah my Sire Strat has a push-push. It's funny they're so uncommon. You'd expect to see them on way more axes...

Thanks!

The player's more decorative than anything..it skips, skates and jump's more than it plays. (Why I have the other record player on top of it ) :lmao:

I'd be interested in your in-depth assessment of the quality of that git; it certainly looks like a stunning instrument.

I've been interested in FGN's unique fretting system, as well. How does it strike you, compared to other instruments?

It strikes me as fookin' awesome :bigthumb:

But to elaborate ..I'd say it's on the level of an Ibanez Prestige as far as fit finish /hardware/pup's etc go (easily.)

Like I said earlier the "circle fret system' is so unintrusive that I actually don't notice it at all w/ this guitar. One thing is obvious though... the note separation & clarity of this axe is exceptional..don't know if that comes down to the Circle Fret System (it's one of the improvement's that they claim) or if it's just the pup's..

Anyway ..it's a joy to play and you can easily lose track of time when you're jamming w/ it cuz it plays effortlessly & feels super-comfy like an old pair of shoes. Did I mention the neck is super-slick & blazingly fast. It looks like an untreated /satin finish but is smoothest satin I've ever come across :bigthumb:

Plugged into my hybrid tube pre-Solid State power Randall T2HL100W head (Eminence Manowar). Also I tried the coil split. The Pegasus sounds pretty sweet split & has that gritty single coil-ish tone to it..in full humbucker mode it's way/smoother/glassier sounding..switched to the coil neck for the last quarter.....should have tried the notch/middle positions but I forgot.. later.

Same track as above - but minus the endurance test :laugh2:

Plugged it into my PRS Archon 50 II & Laney Upright/Offset 2x12 w/ Greenback 25s mic'd w/ a SM57.

I just switched the stock JJ PI tube back into the amp after trying a Sovtek LPS in there for a while. The LPS made the amp sounds a bit brighter but also kinda brittle on top, especially w/ the Greenback cab ..so in went the stock JJ again..

I had the bridge pup split & selector switch in position 2 (notch: Bridge and middle)....

Nice. Have always liked Fujigen; I have a handful of their older builds from the 80s & 90s, made for Greco, Tokai, Burny and Orville.
Always wanted to try out the Pegasus, just never got around to it. Yet.

Sweet. My first couple of Guitar's were actually both Fujigen-made as well (Ibanez DT250 X Series & S540LTD Saber). Though I think all Ibanez guitars were MIJ back then (and everything was either from Fujigen or Matsumoku) . As far as ,FGN, the brand goes...I've seen them around for a while (not in person but in online stores) but just never made the connection. I thought it might be a 'higher-end/premium' Chinese company or something ('cause they're not the usual 'Chinese-guitar' cheap) ....' those are starting to pop up all around nowadays. Glenn Fricker was praisng some of them in a few of his more recent video's....anyway, I assumed tat's what they were...and actually FGN = Fujigen could'nt be more obvious :laugh2:

The Pegasus is cool pup. Not super distinctive, but a very nice all-round pup just the same...lots of clarity w/o being thin or tinny and is kinda "round" sounding in general in spite of it's precision. It's pretty modern sounding & kinda glassy/rich w/ harmonic overtones... probably best suited for prog-metal & shred...

With my JVM 410 again. Neck single coil...slower (mid) paced epic melodic neoclassical track interspersed w/ emotional (7 not 8) finger tapping & some quick yet tasteful shred runs so things don't get too deeply emotional/boring :bigthumb:...
