ImageUploadedByTapatalk1439056542.329589.jpg sounds and plays good, just need to flip the bridge pickup the other way hahah it looks like that was a factory mishap. Other than that it sounds good, and by God does it do Slash well. I know this thing is a fake but I can't afford a real Gibby, so this'll have to do. I traded my LTD Alexi 200 for it. It looks as if somebody took an Epiphone Studio LP and converted it to Gibson specs. But the pickups are wax potted, so no feedback issues.

Quit buying all that "half-crap" (your words) and maybe you could afford a Gibson if that's what you really want. ;)

Re: NGD: Gibson LP.. Nah, just kidding! A Chibson.

Or you could buy any of the various legitimate take-offs.

Re: NGD: Gibson LP.. Nah, just kidding! A Chibson.

If you really want the headstock get a Japanese-market Edwards, Burny, or Tokai.

Re: NGD: Gibson LP.. Nah, just kidding! A Chibson.

I thought you did have a Gibson on layaway. What happened?

Re: NGD: Gibson LP.. Nah, just kidding! A Chibson.

Once again, I find the schtuff in the background of your photograph far more interesting than the item that you wanted to show off.

Barbecue sauce and chips! (Laptop RAM chips, to be precise.)

Re: NGD: Gibson LP.. Nah, just kidding! A Chibson.

Its layby over here.

In the UK, a lay-by is a stopping place just off the road.

don't confuse the boy.

Sometimes, such places include toilet and hand washing facilities. The sort of place were bears (and undercover LEOs*) might lie in wait. Now, that really would confuse da boy.

EDIT - This gives the expression "bear trap" a whole other meaning. :D

Dude no offense but you're always changing your story... "I can't even afford a $50 guitar to mod the hell out of" then a month or so later you put a Gibson on layaway, then you spend $1k on 4 guitars, now you're saying you can't afford a real Gibson...

Well, I ended up going the Chinese copy route for a reason. I'm going to upgrade the hell out of it and make it a working man's LP copy. I know it's fake and I don't even intend on passing it off as a real Gibby. All that matters is it has the name on the headstock, and it plays and sounds ok. It's actually on par with a Chinese Epiphone, and it looks to have come from the same factory. I traded my LTD for this one, as I felt like I wanted to see all the hubbub about Chinese LPs.

I continue to be unable to grasp the logic.

Re: NGD: Gibson LP.. Nah, just kidding! A Chibson.

If you don't intend on passing it off as a real Gibson than why say "all that matters is it has the name on the head stock". If you and everyone knows it's fake than why do you care whether it says Gibson or not? I do not understand...

Edit: It's a Chinese FAKE! Not copy! There's a difference!

I'm going to try and put this as nicely as possible.

You care about the name on the headstock, but don't intend on passing it off as a real Gibson. Those are directly contradictory statements. You want the image of a real Gibson, but don't want to pass it off as a real Gibson. Those two motives work against each other.

Look, I get it. There is an instant gratification in buying new guitars, to have something new in your hands. But I strongly suggest you start re-thinking these things, and begin to start thinking much more in the long term. Don't make decisions just to get instant gratification - that can lead you to a whole lot of trouble - but start thinking hard about long term consequences, and act upon careful consideration. I completely understand wanting to modify things, I've been there A LOT, but unless you have a specific goal or problem with a solution, you will only be disappointed with mods, and keep running in circles (believe me, I've been there a lot). If you saved all of the money you spent on new guitars within the past month, you'd have at least one really nice guitar today (that you could mod, but not need to butcher - only fine tuning to get it to your liking). You wouldn't need to settle for less. Trade offs exist, and are an everyday part of making responsible decisions. Start considering them. A lot.

Re: NGD: Gibson LP.. Nah, just kidding! A Chibson.

I'm not gonna touch the fake aspect of the guitar (to me your guitar is the same as a joyo pedal, a chinese copy of a product that's barely legal since it's not licensed but hard to block from the market), it just turns out that most will condemn you for the guitar. It's cool that you're having fun (tinkering with cheap guitars is fun) but in the short-term, I'm thinking it won't be satisfying and you'll end-up trading/selling it again. Do what you will but a nice quality guitar wouldn't be that expensive on the used market and you'd end-up with a keeper... Just my 0.02$.
