NGD: Ibanez Darkstone

Re: NGD: Ibanez Darkstone

Wild axes, wood name, hardware, & ibby fetish!

Thank you for finally putting a name to my disease. :)

@StratFreak, the headstock is at odds with the guitar. It's what I consider to be the "classic" Ibanez headstock, since my first electric had this. But either the elongated Destroyer or Iceman headstocks would really set this out.

I like that Dark Stone body shape. Congrats on scoring that one.

I want an Ibanez Ghost Rider.

Re: NGD: Ibanez Darkstone

Please don't tempt me. You're a Boston guy. You know exactly where I'd take it.

Hmm... Must be a Red Sox "lights out" thing. Sorry, nicht sprechen zie sports. :8: But if you wanna talk about Aerosmith, J. Geils, or real clam chowder...

I had not known about these. Looks kinda like a souped-up SZ?

Re: NGD: Ibanez Darkstone

^^ They remind me more of the '59-'63 Epiphone Wilshires.

Different spec from SZ - maple neck, alder body with maple top.

Re: NGD: Ibanez Darkstone

I put in a set of Seymour Duncan custom shop JB/JM Prototype in all black in my white version with a set of black chicken head knobs and lost the push-pull feature.

Nice! I think the white version looks even sharper than the black. I bet it looks cool with chicken heads, too.

How do you like the SD's in it? Was there a particular reason you decided to get rid of the coil tap?
