NGD (long overdue): 2014 Gibson Les Paul Classic Seafoam Green

Introducing my 2014 Gibson Les Paul Classic in Seafoam Green. Finally found a finish that made me pull the trigger. She's a little beast weighing in a little over 9lbs. Feels like a mans Les Paul over your shoulders and hands haha. Plenty of sustain and killer lp tones.

The 57s honestly don't sound too bad in the guitar. They are very usable with the push/pull pots and the boost. You could easily have a palette of tone available at your fingers with the right set of pickups imo. I don't like that Gibson has apparently decided to use a board for the electronics. It seems very well built don't get me wrong. I'm just a bit more into the more simple wiring harness. I'm also well aware that it makes more sense to use the board and clips due to the boost and battery being a part of the setup.

The case is pretty freakin sweet. Brown case with 90's pink interior saved me about $100-$200 because this beauty only deserves to reside in a brown/pink case. :cool2:

Enjoy some pron, although my crappy pics don't do her justice. I'm no longer confined to 256k so enjoy the pics lolol

Hmm, so they've changed serial numbers? It appears the first two digits now denote the year.

need some non-yellow light pics!!!!!!!

Very nice. Congrats. I love mine.

FWIW, IME a standard 57 classic is an upgrade for the bridge position compared to the stock Super 57.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! The 2nd set of photos really showcase the maple wood grain with the light flame she's got going for her. I love it! This one is a keeper for sure :D

Thanks for the heads up! I have a zhangbucker p'up (10.3k overwound paf) laying around that was pulled off my ash strat. I think it might go in there. I'm wondering if I could keep the boost and add another tone pot without altering too much of the board. It might have to wait until I get out of the army tho. I'm a little too busy to be fiddling with the wiring right now.

Re: NGD (long overdue): 2014 Gibson Les Paul Classic Seafoam Green

Strange.. I personally didnt care for the color, but with the flame in the maple showing thru, its actually quite beautiful.

Congrats on a great new toy! I had (sold her.. wah!!!) 2012 "2008" model that had the motherboard in it. The negative to it, is if you want to change pups, then you have to buy Gibson pups or gut it. Its good that you like the pups! I searched high and low for connectors for them to add to other pups with no luck.
I have a bad back and should play light guitars, but I like my LPs heavy. They just feel right and sustain nice!

Looks like Gibson has taken a que from PRS on the knobs!
Enjoy that beast!

The second set of picks look much nicer. Not what I was expecting at all (figured it would be a solid colour), but it looks great!

I've seen that one in the sale catalogs. I really like that color combination.

Re: NGD (long overdue): 2014 Gibson Les Paul Classic Seafoam Green

Had you described the color in writing I might have hurled. But seeing it above, in both green and blue incarnations, I dig it. But is it green or blue?

Sweet guitar.

This is the first time I noticed the lack of binding nibs on the ends of the frets. How long have they been doing that on Classics?

Re: NGD (long overdue): 2014 Gibson Les Paul Classic Seafoam Green

Well, she doesn't suck :D

Congrats man and happy new guitar day!!! :headbang:

Re: NGD (long overdue): 2014 Gibson Les Paul Classic Seafoam Green

That may be one of the only LPs I really have a hankerin' for. I love the glory of that wonderful green cap on that warm mahogany. I really, really like that look.

You sir, will be hearing from me for a HB sized jazz 90 to go with my crushbucker :D

To answer your question though, it just really depends on the lighting and angle she's at. She's blue with a light green tint most of the time. At a certain angle, she'll flash her green cap. At another, her bright blue. Same with the lighting honestly. My room has lights with a tint on them, I don't know why haha, but it shows the green cap more. Brighter light will showcase the blue. It's hard to capture on the camera for sure.

The hardest thing to get on digits are the mineral streaks. She's very moody haha
