NGD (or how I finally found another one)

Re: NGD (or how I finally found another one)

I updated page one again with the last of the refret pictures.

Here it is back together while I wait for my decal to show up. The EJ actually uses the "incorrect" reproduction logo, and I may end up using a more accurate '54 era decal.

Either way, it goes on top of the finish, so that will wrap it up.

Awesome job!
Do you ever do guitar builds for people, or do you just do this work for your own enjoyment?

Re: NGD (or how I finally found another one)

Fascinating read... THANK YOU!

I’ve been trying my hand at some building (actually assembling and wiring with a little bit of finishing) and have really been enjoying it, but have stayed away from frets so far. This thread makes me want to dive right in... after acquiring a bunch of tools of course.

Any recommendations for where to start in terms of tools?

I've been watching this since the beginning. What a beautiful display of patience and skill. The outcome is just beautiful, and I love the wear and tear on the body. It's perfect! Thanks for sharing!!

Just my own stuff. I do things for friends of course, but I have more than enough to keep me busy.

The file I wish I had started with is the diamond offset. They are expensive, but damn near foolproof and will last a home user a lifetime.
