I've had it awhile but finally got around to finishing it up.
Started life as a MIM Std Strat FSR. It was all black with cream plastic bits and a maple neck, just too normal for me. The neck is walnut and ebony. I saw the raw walnut blank at work (I work at Warmoth) before it was cut and couldn't stop admiring its straight, near perfectly quartered grain. Definitely sounds different than the maple, more mids, less snap. Still very bright but in a different way.
Pickups have been in it since the day I brought it home. Bridge is a Texas Hot Antiquity, neck is a Surfer. They are simply perfect, so rich, dynamic, and clear as a bell.
Pickguard is from Greasy Groove, kinda expensive and the quality is not perfect but the image is nice and they had quick turnaround on my custom order.
