Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

that sure is a classy-ass guitar. nice.

Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

one question,
what does the mini switch do anyways?
coil splitting?

Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

Yep coil switch on both pickups. After getting used to it, I really like it.

For those wondering about how they sound (not me FYI)

Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

thats one nice sounding guitar,
hope it'll last u a long time and hope u never sell it lol

hows the sustain on that lespaul?

Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

Pretty decent for it's current setup. Once I get a set of 10's on it, it will sing. From my experience, set neck guitars made of good mahogany and a TOM set up with the right string tension will sustain better than any other guitar.

Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

Looks good that is the best colour Gibson ever did. Are you going to replace the tone knob or go for the Joey Santiago/Kelley Deal look :-)

Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

Here...they're some tasty ****in' single coil tones! That caught me off guard, seriously. Pretty convincing.

**** you, now I want one. :banghead:

Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

The control layout is staying stock. Due to the depth of the body I'm not sure a push/pull pot would fit in there. Just with the rarity of this guitar I want to keep it "whole" as much as possible.

But yeah, the split sounds is extremely tasty especially in the middle position.

These are jazz monsters for sure.

Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

I like that picture above of Les Paul eyeballing the action, standing next to McCartney.

That's the only wine red version I've seen. The only ones I recall seeing were the pink burgundy mist ones. I think the deal was that the small dealerships had the good colors and Guitar Center bought all the pink ones to sell in one of their big sales. I remember walking into GC one weekend and seeing a big display of those guitars.....all pink.

Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

Noice!

I've been looking for a LPC Lite in ebony for quite a while now...

Did that just pop up somewhere or have you had feelers out there for a while?

Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

I keep a search going on ebay for them. There were a couple ebony ones up in October. I do keep notes on the ones that pop up. Being somewhat rare it's interesting seeing the same one pop up for sale with various different changes made to it.

Re: NGD ... wait NDGD Gibson Les Paul Custom

How did I not comment about this before? I know that guitar....
