Nice Les Paul through a Fender amp, clean clip

Re: Nice Les Paul through a Fender amp, clean clip

Groovy is the word that comes to mind! Great stuff.

Re: Nice Les Paul through a Fender amp, clean clip

Making up for lost time are ya? Great stuff, you still have the Oxblood right? Don't make me nervous.

Re: Nice Les Paul through a Fender amp, clean clip

Thanks :D

Ha! Yeah, I've collected a few clips while I was away. I run out of space to host them, so I'll probably put up one more, then let them mellow for a while before going to round two.

I still have the Oxblood. That one seems to like me too! It's got a set of Timbuckers now.

Here's the current lineup. This group, except for the Tele, has been with me for a while and seems to be filling my guitar needs quite well. I expect the Tele will fit in here nicely!

'54 Oxblood RI w/Timbuckers
Black Epi Dot w/Seth Lover set
'78 Les Paul Pro w/Vintage and Antiquity P90s
BrentWorth TM Classic (custom Tele) w/Rio Grande Tallboy neck, Muy Grande bridge

Re: Nice Les Paul through a Fender amp, clean clip

Oops, forgot the amp lineup!

Fender Deluxe Reverb II (currently not working)
Carlson Turbo Pup, 35w, 2x10 combo
Tech 21 TM 10
Johnson J-Station

Bought and sold- Fender Super Champ, Clark Beaufort tweed Deluxe clone

ALF what I like about this clip (besides the tone) is the way it breathes. Sometimes the young guys (all of us actually) have to remember that it is just not what you play but when you don't play that counts. Man I'm going to have to plug in and get a clip or two together.

Re: Nice Les Paul through a Fender amp, clean clip

Thanks, Al. I overplayed for years, still do. Recording myself has made me listen much more critically. Best practice tool I've ever found!

Get some clips of yourself for sure, I'd love to hear!!!

Re: Nice Les Paul through a Fender amp, clean clip

Very Tasty....Playing and Tone I'm a big fan of champs, I just got a Champ 12. It's got that sweet class A tone. Was the super Champ Class A? If I remember right it
was closer to a Princeton than a BF or SF Champ. I think it had two 6V6s ? At any rate
It sounded great!

Re: Nice Les Paul through a Fender amp, clean clip

Thanks, kmc. The Super Champs bear no resemblance to the other Champs, except that they're about the same size. They're from teh Rivera-era at Fender and you're correct, it's a 2x6V6 amp, 18 watts into a 10" speaker, all in a cab the size of a Champ. They are kickin' little amps and I wish I hadn't sold mine, but at least I made some money on it :D They sound a lot like a Deluxe Reverb with a smaller speaker.

I've got another Rivera-Fender to replace it, a Deluxe Reverb II, but it's currently out of commision. That's also a 2x6V6 amp, 20 watts into a 12" in a cab the same size as a regular Deluxe Reverb. Once I get it fixed, I'll be wanking through it pretty regularly I'll bet!

Nice job ALF...I have to agree that it's the laid back feel, your tone, and the space you leave within the song that really works..The more I Listen to you all,the more I realize that I need to get more tunes online my darnself..Nice Allman Brothers feel to it with the Hammond keys in the backround...Right up my alley..

Thanks guys!

STRATDELUXER97, I'd love to hear some of your playing. Sounds like we're into the same style of music :D

Re: Nice Les Paul through a Fender amp, clean clip

great clip! love the playing and tone!

and thats a very good point some people have to relize and you do it very well, tis not how fast your play but when you dont play that can make a solo shimmer....

Re: Nice Les Paul through a Fender amp, clean clip

That's the EXACT tone I've been searching for; a thick, clean/crackling, bright and responsive tone for blues leads. Right on man, right on. Now I just need about $4,500.00 , haha. I was actually thinking about putting a set of Gibson 57 Classic's in my Dean Dragster, but I've been convinced to go for a set of APH-I's. But man, that's a great recording. Absolutely RIGHT.
