NODD - a special one!

I used to have an 805 that I always regretted selling. It's such a killer Tube Screamer. I always thought the EQ section was really well thought-through. Very user-friendly, yet centered at just the right frequencies.

So I saw one today at a store for sale, and I figured I'd give myself a cool little late birthday gift to myself. Turns out this is a special one... signed by the man himself!

Man, I love this pedal. Aside from the EQ being really useful, it's just voiced right. I feel it's just voiced tighter, clearer, and slightly more modern than an actual Tube Screamer.

I still have one gripe with it, though. I just wished it had more output volume. But otherwise, it's perfect.

What happens if you just run all three bands of the eq just a little higher but still in the same relation to each other? (like going off your photo if you bump the lows and highs to 3:00 and the mids up to noon) Would that lend more output but still sound the same?

Good idea. Gonna try that!

Yeah, I won't be getting rid of this one for sure! I guess the fact that it's kinda quiet makes it ntegrate well with my HX Stomp too.

good question!!

-my EHX Allied Overdrive sounds very different; - if you turn all 3 EQ knobs up/volume down, or EQ down/(volume up. :o

:)

Always good with added tonal possibilites!

The thing about the 805 is not just the EQ. Sure, it's useful, and that's a big part of its appeal, but for me, it's also that it's voiced well. Even with the EQ's at noon, it's just clearer and tighter than your average TS or TS clone, IMO.

This was my conclusion, too.
