Not sure what's studio about it but Gibson has hit a home run with this beast I think!

Not only is it the sexy non reverse firebird wiht not 1 or 2 but 3 P-90's but the P-90's are all tapped, there is a phase switch, a 5 way pickup selector...did I mention it's sexy as hell!!!

I wish they would bring back the actual Firebird Studios- one I had was one of the (edit) three best non Les Paul production Gibsons I have ever owned. Killer guitar.

LOL. No it,s not "authentic"

However it's one of the VERY few NEW gibson models that came out that were not full of weirdness...need I post pics of robot guitars, Holy explorers, reverse V's, Firebird Xs, and BFG's?

That FB studio was like a SG & Explorer all wrapped up in one, and was a rocking machine.

I agree based on the clips I heard of it. In fact, I might even still have them. Wish I snagged that beast when you had it for sale.

I kid...the FB Studio was a cool guitar but to me a Bird has to have either the snap and cut of Firebird Mini's or the raunch of P-90's...if it doesn't then it's more like an Explorer that looks sort of cooler...

I can dig that, but it doesn't quite sound like an Explorer- it's got that nasty brashness and bite of a SG, while still having those beefy low mids of the Explorer. It was a VERY unique Gibson tone.

Yup. Still got 'em. Just found 'em in with all my gear clips....LOL.

I'd still love a Firebird. I really dig the Firebird I that Paul Stanley played in the KISS' early days.

My FB Studio is my main gigging guitar these days. It's a killer. But it does have BK Rebel Yells in it. Which makes a difference. Awesome combination.

Also, am I the only one who find t a bit odd that then non-reverse Firebirds and the ordinary ones have different body shapes?
