Non-Tremolo Floyd Rose...?

Probably sounds a little crazy, but has anyone ever heard of a Floyd Rose system without a tremolo function?

Think about it. The stability of a locking nut and bridge fine-tuners, but without the disadvantages of having a floating bridge. Quick tuning, heavy palm muting, etc.

Is this a totally crazy idea?

Recent Ibanez hardtails
Blocked Floyds
Tune o Matics w/ locking nuts and Fine Tuning Tailpieces

All fall into this category ;)

lol, perhaps I should have checked out the floyd rose website first :smack:

There it is, as clear as day. You have to admit, it's a great idea though!

Quite true :) I've always been an advocate for fixed bridges, but now that I've been reading up about the flush-style floyd rose that van halen has, it seems to negate all of my concerns (and give you the option of dive-bombing!).

And now the d-tuna... one of the main reasons I don't have a trem is because I like to toggle back and forth to Drop-D.

Damn... I might get a Floyd Rose on my next purchase :11:
