Probably an unpopular choice, but would definitely fit the bill: the Fuglybucker! It has amazing note clarity and chord definition. The low-end is thick and meaty while the lead tones are smooth and sustaining. Single notes are powerful and almost as full as power chords. On top of all that, it is extremely versatile with just a volume knob.
