Now I MUST have a Jem

Re: Now I MUST have a Jem

Yeah. It'd be nice if he busted out an old swirl, floral, or UV on stage every once in a while. He's done some videos with the burnt UV, like guesting on Orianthi's 'Highly Strung' and the Jemini dirt pedal.

Given the amount of guitar tracks songs have, a 7 is probably buried in there somewhere.

His main multi-swirl UV was an iconic guitar of my youth the way something played by Clapton must be for old codgers who grew up when he was the current Guitar God. I guess Steve thinks of that guitar as being too associated with 1990 and Passion and Warfare, and doesn't want to go backwards, but I'd still love to see he break out some of the old UVs. I have little doubt he'll play the new JEM 7 since it's based on his apparent favorite guitar of all time....

^^ Yep.

I'm sure Blueman dresses like this for every gig ;).

Hey, those old black blues players looked sharp on stage. BB King's advice is 'Dress like you're going to a bank to ask for a loan.' You don't see them looking like slobs that just got through mowing the yard. I saw Little Milton in Sarasota and he had on a purple suit with matching hat.

^^ I know, I'm just yanking your chain. Steve is from the 80s/Zappa school, where eccentric/garish is the ticket, even better if your guitar is as weird as your outfit.

Nice bridge....far better than OFR.

Other than that, it's a gaudy-ish tricked out but also pimped up mij RG... Which doesnt seem to justify the extea 1500 bucks or so.

Pretty much this is my sentiment. I got a black floral one BITD when Jems were new as part of a trade, and other than quality of hardware just did not find it significantly better than the $400 ish dollar MIJ RG I owned at the time (same basic guitar as Jem).
