NPD: Fuzz & Giggity

Technically yesterday was the new pedal day. I've had the Fulltone '69 MkII for a few days comparing it with another fuzz, and decided yesterday that it was the one I wanted on my board. I'm a bit surprised that I have an all-Fulltone dirt section, but they're the ones that have delivered the tones I want so here we are.

The Giggity is the one that really impressed me, though. It showed up about 20 minutes before I had to leave for a rehearsal yesterday, so I plugged in briefly to get a feel for the controls and then headed out. Within a few minutes of tweaking at rehearsal I had it dialed in, and I must say it's a subtle but powerful little box. I have it last in my chain after everything else and use it as an EQ of sorts. We use in-ear monitors and right now I only have access to some basic dual driver units, so I always have to decide if I want my tone to be a little too bright or a little too dark in my ears. I was able to dial things in much more exactly with the Giggity, and it makes everything a bit smoother.

I am thinking about picking up a reverb pedal, but I'm not too concerned about it at this point. I was super happy with the tones coming out of my speakers last night.

Now that's a small board that can cover a LOT of ground!

And this thread needs at least one of these.

That's an excellent board. I am curious as to why you're running the 69 after the mobius, though - if you're using it in buffered bypass, the fuzz will suffer immensely. I'd recommend going like this: tuner-->Mobuis-->69-->FD2-->Mobius-->Giggity-->DD-20. That's just me, though.

I run the Mobius in true bypass, and want the fuzz in the pre/post loop (I run some presets on the Mobius before dirt, and others after) I tried the fuzz all over the chain and it's not impacted by the placement.

Edit: the chain you posted is exactly what I'm doing.

Re: NPD: Fuzz & Giggity

Wow, I derped hard. My bad. I did know that you could run the Mobius in TB mode, I just got confuzzled by who knows what... Anyway, that's an awesome freaking board.

Re: NPD: Fuzz & Giggity

Your Giggity can be used as an overdrive stage too if you want.

The Fulldrive is a really nice one - I've got an Y2K-ish flat mids model, with the faulty run of switches.

Re: NPD: Fuzz & Giggity

Yeah, I run the "loudness" control between noon and 2 o'clock to get a bit of hair on my clean tone. I'm surprised by how "marshally" it can make my old Bandmaster sound.

No worries! Yep, the Mobius has a nice selectable buffer but with the DD-20 on my board I turn it off. Knowing me I'll wind up replacing the DD-20 with a Timeline at some point, but the Boss does what I need from a delay.

Re: NPD: Fuzz & Giggity

WTF is the Giggity, really? In clear precise terms...

Is it just a glorified Exciter?

Re: NPD: Fuzz & Giggity

Thanks guys! I did some recording yesterday and really got to dig some fun tones out of this board.
