NPUOD (New pickup order day)

Just ordered a set of Seth Lovers for my 2010 Les Paul Standard.

The stock BB pros are okay, really, but a little hot and "modern" for my tastes. So I thought, what the hell, go for a classic-type set.

Not terribly original, going with the Seths, but I don't think I've ever heard a bad word about them on this or any other forum. My lp is chambered, so I thought its semi-hollowish nature might pair well with a classic PAF-type pickup. Also, I didn't want to break the bank, and the seths were very reasonable compared to anything more boutique.

I've got a guy lined up who will put the molex "quick connect" thingies on them, so ideally future swaps back and forth will be pretty easy.

I didn't mind the BB Pro neck, but the bridge was a little harsh to my ears. Spent a lot of time tweaking it to where it was OK, but never got it to a place I loved. Considered keeping the neck, but I got a deal on the pair of Duncans so I thought, why not try out the set.

Fingers crossed. Should be in in a week or so.

They're great pickups. I have some in a Flying V and they are just really nice evenly toned pickups.

It's a shame that the harness found in you guitar won't allow the full unraveling of the Seth set tone... That PCB was designed by an extremely evil mind! Most probably an engineering that doesn't play guitar at all.

HTH,
