Too true, but ALL of the decent clips I've heard sound stellar. I'm going to Ludlow Guitars tomorrow to try this out!I've heard nothing but great things about Swart but in all fairness RJ could make a Mickey Mouse guitar into a tincan sound amazing.
Interesting. My brother Bruce helped design the reverb circuit on the Swarts that have spring reverb. Bruce and Michael are buddies.
Interesting.
If all goes to plan, I will have an important client meeting in the LES today ... on Ludlow St, in fact ... with a "Mr Swart".![]()
I played the little Space Tone at Truetone Music, and was surprised how addictive it was to play. Pretty fat sounding for a little amp.
I've been gazing at this new 30W one recently, although it's not cheap.

I'm sure they're nice amps, but all I see on that website is a hell of a lot of marketing speak. You're going to get similar tones out of any quality 5F1/5F2/5E3 style amp.
My favourite part was the bit about "no harsh-sounding solid state diodes" in the rectifier.
It's pretty sad that there are people who will fall for a line like that.
