Ok... you have a $500 gift card to guitar center...

Re: Ok... you have a $500 gift card to guitar center...

My current needs are very slim and not guitar related - I need a high end double bass pedal for my drum set, but I'm good in the way of guitars, digital recording hardware and software, and things in general.

Andrew, as you seem to be satisfied with your rig why not offer it up for say $450 cash so someone saves $50 and you get cash in your pocket?

Re: Ok... you have a $500 gift card to guitar center...

A music stand.....Strings....Nice fancy leather strap.....Some classical guitar lessons with the hot girl that works there?

Re: Ok... you have a $500 gift card to guitar center...

Look online at their used stuff for stuff you've been on the lookout for, I get alot of gear from them that way...just got my dejavu for 80 bucks, I got my mesa cab the same way....

Re: Ok... you have a $500 gift card to guitar center...

Probably more pickups than just the one.... A solid wah wah and any other pedals you may want (a Zoom G5 mfx is my dream).... A small tube amp (2W-5W).... Recording eqpt.... A cheap guitar to mod.... Or A BANJO!!!!!!!!!!!!! or even better A UKULELE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then use the rest on strings and plectrums and straps and cables...

Re: Ok... you have a $500 gift card to guitar center...

Since there is nothing you really want I would stock up on the essentials. 10 pack of strings, cables, new tubes, picks, some new set up tools, and guitar polish.

Re: Ok... you have a $500 gift card to guitar center...

I know i'm going to sound crazy but if their is seriously nothing you want to buy why not give it away to someone who could really use it. Someone that you would want to have it or a kid that is looking to start playing the guitar. Thats what I would do IF I DIDN'T NEED any gear.

Re: Ok... you have a $500 gift card to guitar center...

I'd like to change my vote and go with some kind of newer interface and some software. I'm not the best player in the world but neither are a lot of other people and if I had the equipment and the know how, I could probably come up with some half decent clips.

I'm sure a lot of guys are in the same boat. Hell, the only professional guitarist I know doesn't even own an amp but an Axefx (sp?) so he can plug straight in and go.

Re: Ok... you have a $500 gift card to guitar center...

If you go with recording equipment, get some studio monitors and stands. In the long run you'll need them.

p.s. An interface should come with some start-up software like Cubase LE or something.

p.p.s, I'd look into the Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 .

Cubase LE is still current? Hell, I have that...somewhere, along with a Presonus Firewire thingy. Hmmm...
