Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

How about SD artist Dave Mustaine?

He was playing the 10 string version in the early days of 'tallica.

+1. I can't see a grown man playing a guitar like that in public, at least not in the live venues I go to. Maybe I'm getting old.

Just because the Geritol-infused audiences at the old folks home where you play don't dig it doesn't mean it doesn't rock. I think someone once said "If it's too loud, you're too old...."

Then again, I don't think anyone has seen you play anything.

Here's body number 2. Yes, it's ugly, but I'm not too worried about that. Installed a Dimarzio D-Activator in the bridge. I'm not using the original neck because those red inlays just won't match.

Walnut stain, and then tru oil on top. This time I not only rounded down the front horns, I rounded the back a bit to fit my leg better, as I end up playing this "V" style.

I'll have some pics of it assembled in a few days. Should be a nice guitar.

BLOODY HELL . . . i love the look !

There's plenty of people that have seen me play. But then, you're not going to blues-classic rock venues in this part of the state. I like to play loud too, but bar managers don't always go for that. You can 'rock' any electric guitar with a loud amp and some pedals. Pointy guitars don't have an exclusive on that. Those things sure better be able to rock, because they'd look pretty ridiculous otherwise. But here I am talking to a guy who's hero hid his identity behind platform shoes, face paint, and a spaceman suit.

As ridiculous as Kiss is, Ace Frehley can play.

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

I dig that third one, I can't help but think it would look badass with a rail humbucker in it.

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

Here's the first one, still languishing with all that pink paint that needs to be sanded off:

Here's the next two in line, a Warlock:

and another Beast:

That Beast just might have some decent grain.

Yeah, so why the hype and distractions geared for teenagers? The music takes a backseat to all the other circus-style nonsense going on.

LOL bro I am 55 exclusively a CHURCH P/W player now days and regularly play my PEARL PINK 1990 Cavin X220C on stage.
If you are going to play some thing like this though you gotta have some chops to back it up!

Another word for Hype, Distraction, and Circus-style Nonsense is FUN

I don't do Blues/Classic rock? Ummm - the last time I played electric out the set included:

Rock & Roll by Led Zep
Surrender by Cheap Trick
Rock & Roll All Night and Black Diamond by Kiss
Tush - ZZ Top
Godzilla by BOC
Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith

That's pretty freaking classic rock in my book.

Now, I did play Johnny B. Good for the retired Vets wives....if that's what you mean by Classic Rock? :lmao:

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

How is any of this relevant to all the time and effort Dominus put into those guitars?

Dominus - good work mate.
Out of those ones in progress, the last pic (a Beast I think) is the one I'd really like to see when it's done.

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

I'll throw in my 2 cents, which may be worth less than half that! I feel a bit (not totally) like Blueman does- however, I don't see the point in stating that opinion just to be contrary on this thread. One look at the guitar in question and you get an idea it's not going to be about the British Blues/Rock scene of the 60s/early 70s.

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

I often like wood grain guitars, but on some (like this) it looks a little too red necky :)

I've always liked straight up Black, with some minor white bits for contrast.
That said, that creme 'bucker would look killer on a Black pointed demon..

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

i'm not a pointy fan myself, but at the venues i go to, either one would be considered quite the prize.
especially that second one...

who posts in a re-finish/build thread to say "i don't get it" anyway?!

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

Straight up dooshery going on in this thread.

Eh, people that are either old, or act old. I'll cross-post this here:

For those complaining about a lack of death metal warning or whatever, did you even look at the name of who started the thread? Seriously, this guy practically breathes death metal. That's what I know him for around here.

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

I like it! nice job!! What do you think of that pup? never hear much about that one.

Haven't plugged it in yet, just got a new interface for the computer and have to get it set up. The one I bought previously was defective, so I haven't been able to do much the last few days. :P

Clearly, the concept of entertainment is lost on you.
