Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

Wait, isn't it a musician's job to entertain... Unless you want your audience to sit there and not be entertained, I guess.

Maybe if blueman posts a clip from one of his gigs we'd be better able to understand.

What, you've never seen a blues band? Do you really need a concert to have the 'entertainment' qualities of professional wrestling?

Yeah dude, good idea :) I have been dying to hear some deep sustained bends, that only 9-42 strings can do!

Dominus -> Awesome guitars dude! Looking good :) Should a bunch of blues guys show up at your gig and complain about being entertained, the Beast can double as a bat and stabbing weapon! It's a 3-in-1 live multitool. ;)

Eh, I don't gig, I'm just a studio guy/hobbyist.

I have no problems admitting that I have an addiction to gear though. :D

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

Next we'll get the "selling out" lecture:rolleyes:

You know, like ANYONE who accepts money to play.

I posted a thread recently about a cover band we happened upon. One of the best shows I've seen, both musically and in entertainment.

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

I'm not sure we're going to need the Iceman thread back after all

Do minus, just keep doing what you're doing. We like a little fun. :D

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

the funny thing is that dominus has a considerable amount of experience refinishing bodies and matching pickups to them; these guitars probably do awesome clean, blues, and classic rock tones.

Maybe I'll make some heads explode by putting some inlay stickers on the Warlock neck too.

And triple pups...

Put in some phat cats!

I just saw a mariachi band play. Really good musicians, but they were wearing...

*gasp!*

costumes!:omg:

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

So, if it's not your style of music, then it has no value?

It figures.

And it explains a lot.

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

You scamps have really been busy while I was gone!

Dominus - again; Can't say how awesome the axe(s) is!!!! I really love the headstock mod personally. Can't wait to see the other two. You are my inspiration as a craftsman.

I LOVE Joe Bonamassa. And i Have cuaght the sweat off of GAtemouth Brown's brow in a tent behind a blues shack front row. Joe can't shake a string Gate's way.

And remember, the pointiest guitars I own are basically Les Paul's with boners.

Man, that BC Rich looks much more interesting without the Rob Zombie-Slipknot paint scheme.

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

I didn't express an opinion on that music's value one way or the other. You're pretty defensive.

No, he's just reading between your lines. You may not have expressed an opinion on mariachi music, but having read through this thread it's pretty obvious what you think of musicians who do anything live besides stand there and play/move around and play.

Re: Okay Aceman, you wanted the Beast, you got the Beast!

Mariachi, that figures.
Meaning what, exactly?

Defensive:?: :chairfall A more accurate description would be mildly amused. I don't really care what you think. I'm responding in an attempt to prevent others from adopting such ludicrous views.
You're making assumptions.
Based on the context of your posts, they seem pretty safe. You ridicule musicians who do anything other than play, and I mention a group that wore costumes reflecting their music, you make a remark that at least appears to be snide, yet when called on it you deny your apparent intent.

It's no great stretch to believe that you deride the mariachi band for wearing costumes when you've made it abundantly clear that such behavior by musicians reveals their lack of musicianship.

Your position is absurd.
