Re: Oldest guitar you've ever owned? Played? Seen?

Owned - 1982 Gibson Les Paul Standard. Played - 1930 Gibson L Series Acoustic (pics below) that was passed down to a friend from his father. It really was a lovely guitar. Seen...probably early 1900s.

Played? My 1973 Les Paul.

Seen? oh hell, could be like 1919 or something goofy. Have seen 1956 LP's on a number of occasions.

- The oldest I've owned is the bellow Washburn MG-104 from 1993

Funny thing is that this beauty had been a NOS guitar until the previous owner, forum bro Ascension bought her in August 2008. I bought her from him in 2011.

- Oldest I've seen and played was a CBS-era Fender Am. Strat, not sure of the specifics but it was either a late 60s or early 70s axe.

I own a 1982 'The Strat' in a rare sapphire blue.

Mine were a pair of 54 and 55 Les Paul Customs. Heavy as a tank. I still have those noisy marvelous bridge pups from them both.

Seen.
Probably some old old Gibson acoustic. Forget the exact year, probably 30's.

Coolest.
A couple '59 Paul's within sneezing distance.

Re: Oldest guitar you've ever owned? Played? Seen?

Oldest I've played/seen was a 3 pickup '61 Les Paul Custom/SG in ivory that a guy had when I went to buy some recording equipment and the man was kind enough to notice my staring and asked if I wanted to play it. Was afraid I would hurt it but it was the best tone ever.

Oldest I own is a '71 Epi acoustic.

Re: Oldest guitar you've ever owned? Played? Seen?

I have owned and played a 1930's Kay asymmetrical guitar that now belongs to my daughter because she likes it and wanted it. I had also owned a early 60's Gibson ES 345.
