OMG, I did a REALLY bad thing last night.....

Re: OMG, I did a REALLY bad thing last night.....

Well, I got the guitar today. If I judge it by itself, I would say that yeah, it definitely needs a setup and I'm pretty sure a fret leveling. The pickups SUCK. I hate them. The Floyd is great. Stays in tune with even the wildest yanking, bombing, whatever and that's nice. The action feels like it wants to be good if you get what I'm saying. It seems to me that this guitar is basically a Traditional Pro with a Floyd, lousy pickups, and different color choices.

If I compare it to the Agile I just bought...the ONLY thing this guitar has on the Agile is the Floyd. I don't know if the sound will ever be as good as the Agile--we'll see when the pickups are changed--but it will never feel like it, that's for sure. Now of course, that's subjective so take it with a grain of salt, but the Agile feels like a high quality instrument while the Epiphone feels low/mid to me. I sure hope that after a pro setup I have to eat my words, but I'm pretty sure I won't. Now that's not to say that it will not be a great playing guitar once it is setup, but I don't think it will meet the feel and playability of the AL-3000M. My AL-2000, yes, but not the M.
