Pick one and shoot a picture. A few words about the combo would be cool but not required. Combo amps are of course allowed, but if you pick a combo you don't get an extra cab. No pedals, just guitar and amplifier.

Egnater SW-45 on an Avatar 4x12 loaded with V30's on the top and Greenbacks on the bottom. 2000 PRS McCarty with a WLH set. I finally got to try the WLH set with a cranked amp just a few minutes ago. This pickup+guitar+amp combo is just fantastic. Perhaps a bit less versatile than the 59/C and WLH in my PRS CE24, but they just ooze tone. Plugging in to the Plexi channel just begs for Led Zep riffs, and I couldn't disappoint.

I've been a pedal guy for years, and I still wouldn't want to be without at least my delays, reverbs, and modulation pedals. But if I ever found a situation where I didn't need any of that, I would be extremely happy just playing this guitar into this amp and cab.

I don't have an all time favorite rig. It changes every month or so. This was once a favorite and could even return as a favorite from time to time. Can you spell FICKLE?
It's a Fender Blues JR. converted to a head, a Mojotone 2X12 horizontal slant cab w/ a Wizard and Swamp Thang, and an Epiphone Wildkat with TV Jones pups.

This was tricky because my favorite amp is my Fender Quad Reverb (to the right) but you said no pedals and I will respect your request. I gotta have some dirt. My solid state Marshall and Fender are serviceable amps but they can not touch the JBL or the Silverface. I know you said one cab but I am not unstacking my stack for a picture so here it is. My 2011 Gibson Les Paul Traditional with Whole Lotta Humbuckers and My JBL stack with the Chandler preamp. Both cabs are loaded with Celestions. This combo with give you all the thunder and glory of everything Page and Perry. The stack is 600 watts of hard rock goodness, no I have never dimed it, not even close.

Bonus: built in tuner.

Can't do it. I rely on my pedals to complete my tone. I also use an ABY to switch between and blend amps as needed.

I don't have em, so I'll have to just dream. Hovercraft Falcon 50 with kt88s and an assumedly optional reverb tank/2x12 creambacks in an oversized closed back cab/Squier Jazzmaster with PRails. Done. I could probably change the amp out for a Carvin Belair.

My 5150III and '86 Jackson. I custom ordered the guitar in 85' and we've been through lots of changes together. I swapped necks on her in 1991 moved away, and reconnected with that friend last year who had saved it all this time. He sent it to me and it's great to have it all back together.
I love playing dry just as much as not, so this would work for me.

74 Gibson SG Standard, stock.

This is the desert island rig (assuming the desert island has electricity and beer).

The 5:50+ is such an awesome, versatile amp. I use it with an open back 1x12 in my other band. The cleans are soooo nice. With the 4x12 it is loud, but focused, incredible leads on the dirt channel with grimy rhythm and nice gut punch. The spring reverb gives the cleans that little something extra.

The guitar is a war machine. I don't think I've ever played anything that has a slimmer, faster neck. The tarback pickups have lots of headroom and bite, higher output without getting squishy or too compressed. Chord bashing, heavy riffing are articulate while keeping tons of low end. It's not pretty, but it is effective.

This is the happiest I think I have ever been with my rig, in terms of tone, flexibility, and ease of use. It took a lot of experimentation and I'm not 100% there, but it's close.

I have to add that the advice and suggestions I've found here have been a big help with all this, in terms of just getting me thinking about all the factors that go into sound and feel. Oddly enough, I don't currently use any SD pickups yet I have found this forum to be really useful and a great community of gearheads.

I'm with you on the tarbacks!!!

I got an 85SG with them in (was hoping for Shaws at the time of purchase). Now there's no way I'd change them.....for all the reasons you listed. A sleeper of a pickup.

81 Custom heavily modded had it since it was almost new in 81, Fender Prosonic best gain channel ever designed by Bruce Zinky at the start of the Fender Custom Amp Shop 20 years old or so. That is a 82 distortion plus just hanging around for old time fun week.

IMG_1194522906978728.jpg head is a Mesa/Boogie MkV with a custom box to match the cab, cab a 2x12 made to the same dimensions as the Mesa Recto vertical with WGS Et-65 and Veteran30 built by 219 Guitar Works/Owensby Custom Wood Working, the Guitar was hand made by the same guy, walnut body maple&walnut neck and hand wound pickup made by the builder.

My stock squier jazzmaster. It satisfies my desire for something that can do sweet, twangy, and ballsy, while not sounding like every other strat or Tele wielding guy out there.
The orange or15 is a mix of classic orange and 80s Marshall-like tones. Enough gain to satisfy with no pedals, even with vintage single coils and the volume or tone rolled back. Nice grinding fuzzy texture.
The vox 112NT cab is the oldest piece of gear I own. It got a celestion super 65 back when I needed the cab to handle a Dsl 50. One of the cheapest speakers celestion makes, it is actually fairly smooth and even in it's sound if maybe a bit muddy and lacking in tightness. It does the job and I've decided not to replace the speaker and just save for a orange ppc112.

I am only mildly dissatisfied with the cab but the guitar and amp are a ton of fun. That's my one guitar, one amp combo.
