We represent a VERY small piece of the market. There are people out there that will never so much as touch anything but a Gibson because of the name. Because of that, they won't know if a better guitar exists, they will continue to think that the lemon on the GC wall is the best playing guitar ever. They just don't know any better, and never will. THOSE are the people that keep Gibson going in the price bracket they're in.
People will pay for the name...that being said, I honestly don't know how much longer they can run the way they are running. Maybe Gibson will fall out of the public eye (they've already alienated the "well informed internet gear nerd crowd")...
