Opinions on inlays

Re: Opinions on inlays

No, no, no. You NEVER marry an Ashlee.* Ashley? Sure.

But all other spellings? Just take your tugjob under the bleachers and hope she doesn't ask for cash afterwards.

*Unless your name is Travis, Chad or Something Ray. But when that's your name, Ashlee is probably your sister, so...

Hey that's his wife your talking about [emoji14]

I'm kidding but Yea, it's his wife's name. All of the models he has done are named after friends and family and such

Haha, I won't be naming her that.

It's like adopting a puppy, the shelter may call them something, but if they are young enough you can rename them.

Now I have to name her..damn it. I can never think of a name I like. People names get awkward if you know someone with the same name.

Re: Opinions on inlays

Keep it simple. No inlays is cool, dots are ok too. Gibson's trapezoid inlays are just ok. Too fancy inlays or bindings or whatever looks **** imo. If they're forming images like animals or flowers or dragons whatever... I hate that. No-go for me.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind if I'm ever guitar shopping for you.

I like mini dots and partial diamonds

Re: Opinions on inlays

What color is yours going to be? That might factor into it too. I like those small diamonds on a black axe. A brighter finish might need inlays that stand out a bit more. Perhaps trapezoids in wood rather than pearloid, if the guitar were brown or honeyburst.
