p-rails wiring help!

Re: p-rails wiring help!

Rotary switch? You never mentioned that. If you choosed a rotary switch, why didn't get a 5 or 6 throws one, having 3 pickups?
Post a pic of such a switch or a link to some picture of it.
I finally got it all wired up. The first problem is that the hot wire from the input jack has a ground wire as well, not shown in your diagram. Once I solder that the the pot, all sound goes away; without it, there's a lot of buzz, which does not allow me to check the switching much. The pickup selector switch does not seem to work right. It's stamped CRL, with a pat. no., and says made in USA. I can guarrantee pretty much everything is wired up like your diagram - I took my time on this one. The only question, other than grounds would be about the 3ways: does it matter which 3 post side you use?

Re: p-rails wiring help!

I don't get you. The hot wire must be soldered to the tip of the jack, and the ground to the sleeve. Both are represented in my diagram (see right hand, JACK).
Or do you mean that there is a braided or shielded single wire from the jack. In that case, the hot wire should be in the middle of that cable, surounded with a shield, metal foil or braid (that is, ground!). So, you have to use the internal wire as hot and the shield as ground. Shield must go from jack' sleeve to backside of the pot.

Be careful with flipping the blade switch. In the diagram, the outer vertical plate is on the right side. The wiring isn't simetrical so, If you flipped it, you can get unexpected results.

About the lugs of the blade switch... doesn't matter if you wire what is in the "N" (for neck) in one side to the other side, the "M" for middle, the "B" for bridge and the "C" for common.
Thanks for all that. One more question:
The 3way switches you used in the diagram, are they on-off-on, or on-on-on? I think mine are on-on-on, and it might be some of the reason it's not working right.

Re: p-rails wiring help!

And finished this one as well; a lot more wiring and again, different blender routing from Fender, but got it done. Thanks to Hermetico and the others that chimed in with advice. This RG here is an array of tone monster!
