Who was the famous artist with their pic in an 80's ad that had that color and pickup config? Was it Andy Summers? Or Nielsen, or EVH?

That is his Hamer Slammer Series Sunburst model he somewhat credits me for making him try/buy somehow. I own it's twin. These were from the late 90's and are Korean made. Hamer had little to do with them other than name and model style. It was released by the parent company at that time, Kaman.

Andy Summers of The Police had a Trans Red Hamer Sunburst and was picture with it and other Hamers.

It's my Hamer "Slammer Series" Sunburst. Gene inspired me to buy this one by refusing to sell me his (but he had a good excuse). I really bought it because of James Honeyman-Scott, who was featured in a Hamer ad in the '80s.
Andy Summers owned a similar one:
Of the import Hamers, the "Slammer Series" is probably the most highly thought-of. It's MIK, built by Cort, I believe. Obviously, the Slammer has a stop tailpiece and tune-o-matic, unlike the original USA model which had the Hamer Sustainblock bridge. Other than that, I've tried to make mine as much like the '70s version as possible. For pickups, I told Josh Gravelin "Double cream / zebra and I want it to sound like Budokan". Josh took it from there. I replaced the electronic guts with CTS, Switchcraft, and Orange Drop, and put real Schallers on it. I recently decided I didn't like the gold speed knobs and switched to the more Hamer-y amber witch hats.
This guitar will be gigged for the first time next weekend, playing classic '70s cock-rock at my 40th high school reunion.

I sure would like to have a guitar like this one, it tickles my Gibson fetish while breaking new ground.
I also love the double cutaway.
I believe a Hamer is the axe in the whole lotta humbucker demo video.

That's a Studio in the WLH demo, US-made with a carved top. The Sunburst model had a bound flat top. Then there was the Special with a flat top and no binding, just a rounded-over edge. It's the most LP Juniorish of the bunch. There are more Hamers in the '59/Custom Hybrid and Pearly Gates demos, as well. IIRC, the guy who did those demos is a member over at the Hamer Fan Club forum. If you're interested in Hamers, it's great place to hang out.
