Re: PATB-1 Parallel Axis Trembucker

Really dumb question, but you don't happen to have a PATB1n for sale??

Re: PATB-1 Parallel Axis Trembucker

Sure don't, to be honest I've never seen one for sale used at all.

Re: PATB-1 Parallel Axis Trembucker

Hmmm is there any way to put her in regular style with the holes drilled out that far?

Re: PATB-1 Parallel Axis Trembucker

I wouldn't think so but others have filled the hole with a screw and then poured glue in and let it set and there were instant threads. I have never tried it though myself.

Re: PATB-1 Parallel Axis Trembucker

You can also solder or super-glue a nut to the bottom of the mounting tabs and then put the screws through that.
Too bad I got hold of PATB-3's for my Hamer Diablo and Robin Medley. I would have considered a PATB-1 for the Medley for sure. Both guitars have the pickups direct mounted, though I kinda just put the screws through the threads in the baseplate and then into the body cuz I didn't wanna drill out the mounting tabs. I can't really adjust the height now, but it's set where I like it.

Re: PATB-1 Parallel Axis Trembucker

Know anybody with a bunch of tools? If so, see if they have a tap & die set. They would be able to put new threads in it.

Re: PATB-1 Parallel Axis Trembucker

I put bigger than standard screws in a pickup that had been drilled out. I tried to glue new nuts to the tabs with superglue, JBweld, Araldite, and even tried soldering them on but nothing held. In the end the solder made the hole a little smaller and the bolt was able to tap it. Work that out.

Also posting to register interest in the PATB-1.

Willy.
