Peavey 6505+ 112 Combo 60 Watt: Too loud for home use?

Hello,
I was thinking about buying this amp but I was wondering if 60 watts would be too loud for home use. Would it be fine if I just kept the volume low? Also, if anyone has used this amp, I was wondering if this amplifier is good for hard/punk rock?

Thanks

I think most 10 watt amps are too loud for home use and IMHO cranking an amp up then dumping the master to 1 or less to use it in your living or bed room just leads to a terrible tone however there are a lot of guys that see it differently so my best advise is to just try it and see.

That amp will be perfect for hard/punk rock. (It'll do anything from classic rock to death metal.) It may be a bit loud for home usage though. An attenuator will probably help keep the volume down some.

It's not just "too loud". There are some amps that sound better when dialed way down and others who do it less well. The 6505 sounds very dry at low volumes, IIRC.
