i played a 2x10 delta blues at a show in clarksdale, ms earlier this year. not a bad little amp, better than most peaveys ive tried. $250 seems like a fair price as long as it works fine and is decent shape. i used mostly the clean channel and i didnt feel like i was lacking anything.

That amp has since died Jeremy. So has the one that Peavey sent us to replace it. And the one that the club had BEFORE the Peavey endorsement deal...yep, also died.

I've seen nothing but reliability issues with those amps. Just thought I'd throw that out there. I've seen three out of three go bad, straight from factory, two of them barely 4 shows in before they died. Just a warning.

I've had a Peavey Classic 50, as have my sister and one of my best friends. Those things NEVER die. The one that the club in Clarksdale has hasn't died either and it's been used a lot. I would recommend a Classic series amp and a tremolo pedal before I'd recommend a Delta Blues.

IIRC, the Delta Blues has the accordion boards and are renowned for their ability to go into catastrophic failure aka up in flames...it's your money.

Anyone care to explain what an "accordion board" is?

I am thinking I can actually get it for $200. I am thinking it has to be worth that with new tubes in it. The tweed isn't ripped, just kinda dingy looking. I'm gonna try to go check it out a littlw better this Friday. I am hoping it will be something I like with a Tele for more "countryish" tones, ie. Shooter, Son Volt, Chris Knight, etc.

i assume the Accordian board slang means the board has been known to warp with the heat... what is this based on..? fact? romour?

I'm not sure what the tech issues are with this model... these guys are saying they've seen a batch of them go down.... i'm not sure if that is a good representation of the thousands Peavey have sold of these amps... If they were that bad i'm sure Peavey would of corrected or discontinued the model... From what i understand they are basicly a C 30 circuit with Tremolo added....

some guys i knew doing a tour of the UK where sponcered by Music Ground/Hiwatt UK.... they blew 3 Townshend signature Hiwatt heads in one week... the issue was a cheap arse resistor that costs like .80cents.... Hiwatt changed the source for the resistors... i'm sure if there was a massive repair issue going on with Peavey gear they would make changes too..

for $200 i'd be on that amp myself.... i really want the 15 inch speaker model myself but hey whatever comes by eh... In general Peavey Classic series amps sell for cheap used here in Canada.. i've seen lots of C50 2x12 and 4x10's going for less then $350-$400...

If you open the back panel, the PCBs are folded one on top of another like an accordion...this is not a good thing. As far as amp mfgs changing something if it's a problem, see the various flaws that are endemic to the Blues Deluxe/DeVille line; Fender has never fixed these. If you keep buying them, they have no reason to...

Depends on how it sounds. Our church has a 210 and it sounds like garbage ever since warranty repairs were done on it. I played a 115 in a music store and loved it.

I discussed this once with my repair guy. He said it wasn't much of a concern from what he'd seen, but it made them hell to work on.

Don't get me wrong, the Delta Blues sound great while they're working. The club sent two of the three that we had back to peavey for repair and peavey couldn't even repair them so I can't really tell you what went wrong with them, I just know they went down. I just know *I* don't trust their reliability.
